About Me

Oh! You are so teensy tiny!

First and foremost, I am an ANIMAL LOVER! It doesn’t matter if it is a cat (my favorite), a bird, a dog, a cow, even a mole…they all have a purpose on this earth.

My firm belief is that all animals have a right to live. I do get frustrated with habitat loss, climate changes that are the result of us humans taking our environment for granted…well. Let’s not go there. I am not here to talk politics. I am here to share the stories and experiences I come across as a volunteer at a local cat shelter.

My name is Jen Case. I am 52 years old, and currently unemployed. But WAIT! Don’t go! I am going back to school at my ripe old age. I live in the United States of America. Yes, unemployed. I have done all sorts of jobs. I have processed mortgage loans for the biggest bank in the world (shall remain nameless), to working as a self-employed pet sitter. Pet sitting was the most rewarding work I have ever done. It was cut short abruptly when I was diagnosed with cancer and my treatment would not allow me to work reliably (and the whole cat litter box issue). I am happily married with no children. Oh wait…did I say no CHILDREN?

…Hmmm… I guess it all depends on what you qualify as children…

I am a self-described fur-baby mom. I have TEN children. Two are of the canine variety – Hope & Ben. Texas street dogs that we rescued from the “EU Room”. So so sad what people do in Texas to their animals. Oh, right, no politics. Moving on, I have eight babies of the feline variety. Yup, I guess that makes me a cat lady. Wait. Does is count if my spouse has four and I have four? No matter. I am proud to have rescued many cats, and currently have eight cats. Their ages range from 16 years old to 1 year old(s). Three are one year old and from the same litter. Oh boy. That was crazy fun. The babies names are Tucker, Moon and Louie. The “middle” kids are Henry & Kennedy (litter mates with Jackson – see below), Max, and Miss Cleo. All but the oldest one are from the rescue/shelter I volunteer at. Our oldest one, Nugget, is from another rescue. We call our house the “mini” shelter. I do not know what I would do without my babies. I started this blog/website because most people do not realize what it takes to get a kitten or cat rescued, rehabilitated, then the search for their furever homes. I wanted to share these experiences in the hopes more people will volunteer, less people will mistreat animals, and generally speaking, help the world be a happier place for all of us to live in.

Icon Picture – That is my cat Jackson. He helped me get through the hardest days of chemotherapy. He suddenly got sick at the tender age of three, and he passed from an unknown disease. Pathologically speaking, the vets know he had “tumors” that would rapidly build up in his GI Tract. But they weren’t cancerous. They weren’t benign. These “tumors” consisted of inflammation cells. We had wished his body be donated to research since only 21 cases of this has ever been documented. Through a series of unfortunate events (no politics, remember?!), that didn’t happen. I suppose that wasn’t the plan for him. And I have no choice but to accept that. I miss him every day.

Jackson…I Miss You Every Single Day Buddy!
