It has been quite some time since I did a post. I went back to school to get my advanced feline training certification. I have four weeks left, and it couldn’t go any faster. I have had many fosters since my last post, so I have a lot to catch up on. It bothers me greatly that I haven’t written.
Why? Because it is something I love to do. Among schedules, technological issues, and the fact that I reach no one with these posts and my blog, creates an animosity in me that wonders why I should even bother. Even my own spouse doesn’t read my blog. It sometimes feels like a colossal waste of time. But…
I am going to keep going when I have some more time if only for myself so I can keep the memories of my fosters documented somewhere. On the days I’m feeling down or a bit off, I can go back and remember what I have done for these babies and lift my spirits. This is why I do what I do. Knowing I am basically saving an animal from having to live outside brings me a sense of purpose so strong that even when ‘bad’ things happen, I have something that helps me get through those times.
That is why I blog. Knowing how good it makes me feel, I want to spread the word to you, my audience, so that you will understand why fostering and volunteering with animals is so important. It is the best soul ‘food’ I know, and until you try it, you just won’t know. So, go ahead and try it!
