Eldorado

Have you ever laid eyes on an animal and fell instantly in love? That is how it is with Eldorado at the shelter. There is a woman named Sue at the shelter that is one of the best trappers I have ever known. Most of the kittens or cats that need socialization are trapped by Sue. She is making a difference in lowering the number of feral cats. If a cat is truly feral, then after she traps them, they are spayed or neutered, and she brings them back to the colony.

Big Ole’ Tom Cat

Eldorado is a large orange and white Tom Cat. He lives up to the definition as he was not neutered (I seriously can only imagine how many times he has become a ‘daddy’), and by the number of wounds on him, he certainly got into a lot of scuffles.

Eldorado

As You Can See…

Eldorado is a bit marked up from his “adventuring”. As you can see, he has that large scratch on his nose, his ears are marked up, and he has little puncture wounds on his body. The song “Desperado” by The Eagles pops into my head when I think of him. It is a rather fitting song, I must say. https://www.lyrics.com/lyric/6602075/Desperado

So Grateful He Ventured Into Sue’s Have-A-Heart Trap

Like most orange males, Eldorado is an outgoing, friendly cat. Truly amazing considering he has obviously lived outside for some time. What his story is we will never know. But now, he no longer needs to worry about where or when his next meal is coming from. He doesn’t need to worry about finding shelter during storms, or when the temperature falls. Eldorado is safe now.

Medication Regiment

After Eldorado got neutered, there were some concerns he may have a urinary blockage. Urinary blockages in males are deadly. Eldorado also had “junky” eyes. This is not uncommon with stray/feral cats, and easily remedied if caught before their eyes may need to be removed. After he was neutered, he was on three medications plus fluids. He was a champ when it came to giving him all these. The picture and video below were right after we gave them to him. Eldorado is amazing. I can’t wait to get that email he is now in his furever home. Potential adopters only need to look beyond his war wounds which will heal to see his beautiful personality. His story warms my heart. I hope it warms yours as well.

Wow! This is the best thing ever!
