Lil’ Bear Got Adopted!
Last Tuesday I had an appointment and thought I would not be able to make it to the shelter to socialize. On my drive home, I figured I had at least some time to spare before the evening feeders came in. I am so grateful I did.
Lil’ Bear was great! We played, he came over for some loving, and he got some treats for being such a good boy. I picked him up and put him on my lap. Scruffing him was unnecessary, as he let me pick him up without incident. While he was sitting on my lap, all he wanted was to be petted. He even readjusted himself so he could get some belly rubs in too!
“I think my work here is done.”
Me in a text message to Joyce while I was at the shelter.
Trust In The Universe
This is a perfect example of “willing” something to happen. Something positive. Although I would highly recommend against it in the sphere of physical health (leave that to the docs), when it comes to positive thinking, I have become a true believer. I could have not sent that text, or thought he needed more time, but I didn’t. Instead, I could tell it was time he went “home”. A timid cat or kitten can only go so far in a shelter. Once they get into their furever homes, they can really blossom as they have a constant human(s) to bond with and trust. Joyce was doing adoptions just a couple of hours after I left the shelter, and I had no idea.
“Did You Get My Email?”
That text from Joyce was on my phone when I woke up. I had a funny feeling I knew what it was about, but to actually read he was adopted blew my mind and warmed my soul. That boy deserves a furever home, and I am so happy for him. Not seeing him at the shelter makes me a little sad, but I can’t wait for an update (hopefully), but my mission was accomplished. Sadly, there aren’t any kittens or cats that really need “hard” socializing at the shelter right now, so I will patiently until the next timid/semi-feral kitten or cat makes it to us. In the meantime, I have some evening feedings on my calendar. Happy trails Lil’ Bear!
