Wow. I started this blog for “fun”, but the technological side of this is so frustrating! There is so much more that goes into a blog than just the content. I suppose when I mindfully think about it, it is a good first world problem to have.
Lil’ Bear Update
Lil’ Bear is blooming into a very special cat. He is still a kitten in actuality, but an older kitten. Yesterday when I went to visit him, he wasn’t hiding, and had “full-range” of the office. He still goes back into his cage (we keep the doors open) when he gets a little spooked. Okay — I am sitting here laughing my butt off. My rescue dog Hope is asleep on her “chair”, and she is snoring so loud it is distracting me. Do they make sleep apnea machines for dogs? Haha – Squirrel!
Back to Lil’ Bear. When I approached him, he didn’t hiss, and immediately was like, “rub my belly”! He would place his head on my hand and pretend to sleep and walked over to my hand and gave it a good ole’ head butt. He then proceeded to do the unsaid command to rub his face. He is a special kitten.
On a more serious note, there is a chance he has the dreaded ringworm. He is from Florida, after all. I have already put it out to the Universe that he does not have ringworm, and it is simply dry skin. I know the shelter director and President of the Board will tell me to stay away if he positive to protect my “mini-shelter”. I can’t do that though. If Lil’ Bear has to get dipped, he’s progress not only will stop, but I am sure it will go backward. I will have to be diligent in what I do when I get home (throw clothes I wear directly into the washing machine, take a shower, and not have close contact with my babies). I won’t let all the hard work Lil’ Bear and us socializers have put in go to waste. I can’t. I just can’t.
